black midi – “Eat Men Eat”

Altering the DNA cacophony of rock always are black midi who are returning just a year from their excellent sophomore effort Calvacade with a venture into the dark soul of a reluctant miltary man and his attempt at emancipation from that damnation on the UK trio’s third studio album Hellfire. The album’s latest preview “Eat Men Eat” hears guitarist and vocalist Geordie Greep, bassist Cameron Picton and drummer Morgan Simpson continuing to deconstruct the experimental edges of their unbridled rock sound with a fusion of flamenco. It starts off like a sanguine escape for its main character before being cornered and diving into its own suffering mania, with no bottom to the pit.
