Preoccupations have maintained their place as one of the most quintessential post-punk bands for these decaying times, and while their artistic renderings of the apocalypse are more calculating in their steps, each chapter puts nihilism to great purpose. Arrangements, their fourth full-length effort and first since 2018′s New Material, will chronicle “the world blowing up and no one giving a shit,” and with its first preview “Ricochet”, the Calgary quartet could very well make the most faithless post-punk act that’s followed in their path pray to a higher power to sound as good as they do at this stage in their career in its dark, dense air and ornate fretwork.
Preoccupations’ Arrangements will be released September 9th on Flemish Eye.
