With last year’s acclaimed full-length debut breakout New Long Leg, Francis Shaw – and along with her, the rest of Dry Cleaning – made being cool look so easy even if the London post-punk band’s shirks off their shoulders away with the rest of the world’s weary intentions. “Don’t Press Play”, the lead single from their newly-announced sophomore follow-up Stumpwork, isn’t letting any outside factors or “it” labels interrupt their train of thought. Shaw’s got enough going on with fighting with her brain to deal with as is, and with their latest shade of nonchalance, she and the band make anxiety an almost sing-a-long.
