2021 was an incredibly promising year for the Tacoma four-piece Enumclaw, who on their first EP Jimbo Demo waxed of escaping nowhere hometowns, not wanting to be a loser, and lovesick letters all with a definitively cool shrug of your new favorite slacker indie rock stars-in-the-making. “Jimmy Neutron”, the lead single from the band’s debut album, hits like a summer crush that never leaves your mind: Oxytocin highs and vivid memories from living in that moment crashing over like waves and infinite sunshine through a tightened ripcord in guitars and vocalist Aramis Johnson’s post-romantic musings. You blink, it’s over, and onto the fall, but it leaves its mark.
