A polymath of indie rock, punk, soul, R&B, and hip-hop, Bartees Strange can be described as a polymath in doing many things well musically, but single-handedly saving EDM in his own mold days before his new album drops is more proof that the element of surprise comes innate to his songwriting. “Wretched” is the final preview before the arrival of Farm to Table this Friday, and embraces the drop with a folk infusion, merging together the planes of inner euphoria with the human spirit in this ode to those who’ve had his back all the way up from day one.
