Since their 2020 breakthrough singles and last year’s compiling of them on the Saccharine EP, Baltimore punks Pinkshift have leaned down to a trio and finally picked a home by signing with Hopeless Records. Their first single for the label, “nothing (in my head)”, very much is making sure that the only association between hard-edged pop-punk and bands whose name starts with the letter “P” will foremost be with them. Also, if black metal exists, can Ashrita Kumar’s leaping and guitarist Paul Vallejo‘s ripping outro be cause for its adverse in pink metal?
